Using the Chromebooks
 

Logging in to the library gmail account:

  1. If prompted, type in the email address (kstatepolytechlibrary@gmail.com). If, instead, you see the library’s login image (a chess set), skip to step 2.

  2. Type in the library account’s password (Wildcat#1!!). 

  3. Login.


Setting up/Logging into KSU Wireless:

The settings should be like the following: 

  1. In the EAP Method box, type PEAP.

  2. In the Phase 2 Authentication box, type MSCHAPV2.

  3. In the CA Certificate box, select “do not check.” 

  4. In the Identity box, type your eID. 

  5. In the Password box, type your eID password. 

  6. Uncheck the “remember identity” option.

  7. Tap Save or Connect.


MAKE SURE YOU LOG EVERYTHING OUT CORRECTLY BEFORE SHUTTING DOWN THE MACHINE.

Using Word on Chromebook

  1. Click on the white dot, or Launcher, in the bottom left corner of the screen

  2. Click on Word (If a prompt appears asking you to “Allow Word to access photos, media, etc”, click “ALLOW”)

  3. On the next screen, enter your @ksu.edu email, then hit enter

  4. You will them be directed to the KSU login page.  Login with your eID and Password

  5. Once word loads you can start a new file or If you need to open a file that has been downloaded from Canvas, click “Open other documents” in the left corner of the screen

  6. Choose “This device”, then choose the “Download” folder

Saving Document to Your OneDrive

  1. Click “File” in the top right corner and click “Save As” on the left

  2. Choose OneDrive – Kansas State University.  This will allow you to access your document later on any computer or device with an internet connection. 

 

Signing Out of Word – VERY IMPORTANT

When done using Word, you MUST SIGN OUT or students who log on the Chromebook after you, will be able to access your OneDrive account. 

  1. Click your name in the top right corner

  2. Click settings

  3. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the screen and click the blue “Reset’ button
